101  members  from  KB  Honbu,  CCMS,  Mata-Mata  and  UBD  Dojos   joined   the  combined  Grading  held  at  Honbu  Dojo,  Kuala  Belait  on  Sunday  26  March  2006  from  8.00  am  to  7.00  pm.

The grading was held in formatted sequences required for a standard grading: Fitness Tests, Basics Kihon, Kata and Kumite.  Started with the lowest belt (White), working upwards to Brown. 

As there were numerous members for the Grading, the Blue Belts started after the lunch break.

Shihan Hj. Malai Mohammed led the grading, assisted by 3  black belts; Mohd. Faizal bin Basri, Ali Ruwaidi bin Dr. Hj. Harun and Nuruljannah Binti Aripin.

Faizal and Ali were responsible for prompting commands.

Sujimah binti Mejari, Siti Susilawati binti Mohd Zaini, Harinah binti Mohd Shara and Rosyanti binti Hj Lamat had also came to the rescue for the grading.

There was a pleasant surprise during lunch time when Sensei Awang Bin Hj Munap and Dk. Supertini Bte Pg Hj Yussof kindly gave a birthday lunch for their eldest daughter, Nurul Izzatullah, who participated in the Grading, going for her Blue Belt.

The environment was heated up when all the 120 karate members, under the direction of Shihan Hj. Malai, sang a birthday song for Izza Awang, watched by her Dad (in T-shirt) and Mohd. Faizal as she cuts her birthday cake, accompanied by Izza Hashim (with head-dress @ tudong).

After a gruelsome Grading morning, younger boys have their gleeful time-out during the lunch break.

The    Grading    Results

Except for 2 members, due to absence and irregular training hours, were not promoted, while all the other members passed their grading.

Eight (8)  members  got  double  promotions. 

From White to Orange Belts were:  Mohd. Azim bin Abd. Razak, Abdul Hazim Haji Jasmen Shah, Md. Yasin bin Abd. Rahman, Muhd. Yusof bin Ibrahim, Chang Hui Ling and Nurrisa bte Abdullah.

Nurulain bte Mohd. Idrus (Ain), jumped from Orange to Blue Belt.

The Two (2) who got their 1^st Dan Shodan Black Belts were  Md. Mezudy Afril bin Md. Mazlan and Muhammad Ruddin Al-Haj bin Mohd. Rommy (Ruddin).

Both Ain and Ruddin, due to their outstanding performances during their regular training and local tournament participations, were selected to join the Brunei National Karatedo Team.  They are currently in Kedah, West Malaysia (26 May - 4 June 2006) for the SUKMA XI Games.  (see separate links).

On 27 April 2006, Sensei Hj. Okhida, the Brunei National Team Karatedo Coach was given the honour to present the new belts to all the promoted members.
