The Wadokai Karate-Do team from Brunei Darussalam comprising young participants from Brunei-Muara and Belait districts emerged overall champion at the Marudi Invitational Karate-Do Championship 2006. The team bagged 15 medals.

 

The two-day championship from June 24 -25 was held at Telang Usan Secondary School in Marudi, Miri.

 

The championship was participated by more than 50 participants from Marudi and Telang Usan Secondary Schools as well as other clubs in Sarawak.

 

Ariffin bin Mansor, Sports Officer and Karatedo Sports Coordinator of Sarawak State Sports Council thanked the Brunei participants for taking part in the championship.

 

The championship was also part of the effort by the Brunei team to upgrade their skills and experience by competing with teams from Sarawak.
